Gossip Girl Book Tag

Hello hello everyone, so I was trying to think of what to post on this blog for the week and I was already doing a gossip girl post over on my other blog (which you should definitely check out) and I figured, why not go all out? So I found this Gossip Girl Book Tag that absolutely nobody tagged me in and decided to do it. I won’t tag anyone in particular, but if you would like to do this tag too, consider yourself tagged! Without further ado, lets get started!

Serena Van Der Woodsen: The ‘it’ girl of YA fiction

Starting with Serena, who I HATE WITH A BURNING PASSION LIKE NO OTHER, but that’s for another day. When thinking about the ‘it’ book, the first thing that came to my mind was The Hunger Games, probably because it was the thing that got me, and probably a million others, into YA fiction. However, one book series I heard so much about, but never took the time to read due to certain issues I have with the author was The Infernal Devices triology, which I am now reading and will most likely be done with by the time you are reading this, and though I still have some minor issues such as the somewhat irritating main character and the excessive amount of times I am told that Will has blue eyes, I feel like these books are what everyone loves about YA fiction, and so if I can’t go with The Hunger Games as it is more of a basic choice, I’ll go with the other basic choice of TID.

Blair Waldorf: A book or character you love to hate

First of all who actually hates Blair? She’s literally the best character in the entire show and I have based much of my own personality off of her, but anyways, I would probably say that the most obvious choice for books I love to hate would be anything by Sarah J Maas, I actually did recently, despite my known hatred for her writing, read the Court of X and Y series. I still hated it, but in a way that I loved to hate it. Also if you want a review of all three books please let me know because I have many an opinion.

Chuck Bass: A rollercoaster ride of a book

Ah, time for my favourite toxic boy, good old Chuck Bartholomew Bass. For this book I’d probably go with the last book in the Selection trilogy, The One. No book has ever made me cry in my life, I’m just not very emotional in that way, but this book frustrated me so much because of how much I wanted things to work out that I cried angry tears for it.

Nate Archibald: A book cover eye candy

The first book I thought of was Wild Beauty, this was possibly the most boring stupid annoying book I’ve ever read, but she’s so pretty that I can’t seem to let go of her just yet.

Dan Humphrey: A book that you think deserves more love than it gets

The implication that Dan Humphrey is deserving of any love is so disgusting to me, who came up with these questions seriously? Nonetheless a book that I really loved that I didn’t see get as much hype as a lot of other very mediocre new releases was The Shadows Between Us, I just absolutely loved everything about this and I read it in about four minutes flat. It was easy, fun, and got me out of my slump.

Jenny: A character who went through the most dramatic transformation, for better or for worse

I would say the main girl whose name I’ve just forgotten from Throne of Glass, but I feel like I’d just be beating a dead horse if I kept mentioning that, so I will instead go for none other than president Snow in The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, possibly my most disappointing read of all time. In the span of this book he goes from maybe wanting to do some good, to falling in love, to wanting to kill the person he fell in love with, to a literal dictator for no apparent reason and I still don’t quite understand why.

Vanessa: a book that doesn’t leave a lasting impression

I hate to say it because I know a lot of people love it, but ask me right now what happened in the book One of Us is Lying and I would have no idea what to tell you. It was a fun read while it lasted but had absolutely no lasting impression on me at all.

Rufus and Lily: an OTP that could have been

The me that is writing this is praying that Will and Tessa get together, so I’m hoping that when future me goes to publish this, she can comfort past me and tell me that it’s all going to be okay. An OTP that I think could have been is probably Chaol and Celeana (there we go, remembered her name) from Throne of Glass, I really loved them together. I also think that Addie and the devil in The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue would have been one of my favourite ships ever if it was done right in the book.

Georgina Sparks: A villain who’s killing it with villainy

First person I thought of was the love of my life for no deserving reason because he is literally a crazy person: The Darkling. Don’t even come at me for being toxic I’m in love with him.

Dorota: A favourite sidekick character

Definitely definitely Kenji from the Shatter Me series, I literally fell completely in love with him and he deserves every single good thing in the entire world I love him so much. He’s so funny, he has an actual brain, he isn’t a kiss ass, he’s just perfect.

Ivy: A book you always mistake for something else

This is a hard one actually, I’d probably say The Opposite of Always and Permanent Record. I read them both kind of close together and they were both the worst contemporaries that I ever read.

Lola: A book you want to like more than you do

Probably Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo, I’ve loved all her books and this one just was not it for me, I was really bored and kind of discombobulated through the whole thing, overall just not fun.

Prince Louis: A prince charming turned a plus jerk character

Most rejected YA men actually lol, the first ones that come to mind are Adam from Shatter Me and Tamlin from ACOTAR, who both basically just cried and broke stuff when the girls they had forced into relationships while they were weak and vulnerable realised that they wanted a better relationship

Well thank you so much for reading! i hope you enjoyed this post, let me know down below some of your opinions and also if you are a big Gossip Girl fan like me, let me know what characters you love and hate. Thank you again for reading, make sure to like if you enjoyed it and I will talk to you all next week!
