My Reading Routine…

Hellooo lovelies! I adore watching and reading posts about routines, so I thought I’d show you all my reading routine, I hope you enjoy!

  • TEA!!! I always make a cup of tea to drink while I’m reading, and I have two cups where the tea will always taste better, but one of them is rather rude, so I won’t insert a photo…
  • FUN FACT: I will only ever drink PG Tips tea, I can tell the difference if it’s not.
  • I will make sure I won’t be interrupted, so I’ll try and wait for a time where I know my mum won’t call me to do something
  • It’s also probably useful to pick a book to read

1534787730468

  • At home, I will only ever read in my bedroom, either on my beanbag or my bed, a lot of people say reading on their bed makes them fall asleep, but I’m a raging insomniac, so that’s never really been an issue
  • If I’m not at home (at school basically, I’m only ever at one of the two) I will plug in my headphones and read an e-book on my phone, whether i’m walking to a lesson, waiting for a lesson and (sometimes) when I’m in a lesson (but only when I’ve done my work, stay in school kids)
  • I’m not the type of person to go into the garden or to a park and ‘be one with nature’ while I read, just, no, I’m all about the hermit lifestyle.

  • When I’m reading at home, I like silence, but if I’m at school, I’ll listen to music, it doesn’t have to be quiet music, just anything to block out the idiots, really
  • I don’t eat while I read because that is an accident just waiting to happen
  • I will switch from a position that’s bad for my spine, to one that’s bad for my neck, to one that’s bad for my back

  • I literally always want to read so I’m not picky
  • I get a lot of reading done on weekend mornings because I’m a pretty early riser and the rest of my family sleeps in, so I have a good few hours of uninterrupted reading then
  • Some days, my family will just leave me to it and let me read all evening, where I also get a lot of reading done, but that really depends
  • If my parents are out or binge-watching Peaky Blinders I also get a lot of free reading time, I should find them a new series to get them into, I’d get a lot of reading done…

    1. Aww thank you so much! I thought it’d be cute to put my own lil twist on a routine post but idk if it actually made any sense tbh 😂 I know! I can’t wait until autumn and winter when I can sit in a blanket with the heater on and read alllll my books ❤️ xx

    1. Aww thank you❤️ it’s not that I have time to read, I just put off other (prob more important) things so that I can😂😂 I am the QUEEN of sitting still I honestly wish I could do it for a living 😂❤️

    1. I wish I had enough upper body strength to hold up a book when reading in the bath but I just CANT 😂😭 I generally will try to read 100 pages in every sitting though so I can get through my HUUGE pile of books 😂❤️

  1. Interesting post! I haven’t been reading much lately – I’ve always had a book on the go but for some reason I’m reading really slow at the moment. I like to read in my garden in the Summer – not because of nature but because it gets me away from distractions! I also like reading in the bath, I’ve done a LOT of reading in the bath haha! xxx

    1. I wish I could read in the bath but with how clumsy I am I would 100000% drop it or let my hands sink in too far so that the book gets wet, I wish I could though because the bath is free from all distractions and I’d probably get so much reading done 😂❤️

      1. Yes I’ve been meaning to for ages but it’s one of those things I’ll constantly forget about until I’m in the situation when I need it 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

  2. I wish I could get into reading. I just can’t seem to really get stuck into a book without it feeling forced. Guess I just need to accept that I’m not a reading kinda gal x

  3. Ooh this was so interesting. I used to get my parents to buy PG tips all the time when I was younger solely because I wanted to monkey toy that came with it 😂. And I totally agree about the reading outside thing, I don’t like it either!

  4. This was so fun to read!! I love drinking tea when I read, too. My favorite brand is Harney and Sons. To me, their tea just tastes so much better than all the other brands I’ve tried. I’ve not tried PG Tips tea, though! 🙂 Unfortunately, I’m not always an early riser, but when I do manage to get up early, I also love reading in the morning. It’s just so peaceful!

    1. Ooh I’ve never heard of that brand before I’ll have to go I’ve it a go, honestly the early rising depends with me but when I do I read A LOT, thank you for reading xx

  5. Love all your descriptions of how you read and your habits. I also mostly read in my bed, and I read best when uninterrupted for hours as well. Also a cup of tea is just perfect for curling up with a book (iced tea when it’s hot outside, though). I do enjoy occasionally reading outside, though, like in a cafe, a library, or just in a park when having a picnic. Natural light is always the best light to read with. Great post!

    1. Aww thank you so much, I’ve never been one for iced tea tbh (unless forgetting about a cup of hot tea until it’s ice cold counts) I haven’t been to my local library in ages but I should probably start going back tbh, I much prefer natural lighting but in the UK at winter it’s dark by 5pm sometimes so I don’t really have the choice 😂

      1. I feel you, during winter it’s always tricky to try and find good natural light, not just for reading but doing everyday things in general! 😀

  6. “I will switch from a position that’s bad for my spine, to one that’s bad for my neck, to one that’s bad for my back” — hahah! I laughed out loud at this because it is so accurate. I constantly have pain in my neck and back from trying to find the perfect way to read! This post is great, I love hearing about your reading habits! I usually read in bed too, I can never read outside as I get too distracted. Also, don’t hate me but… I don’t like tea. Sorry!

    1. Ugh same I always lean on my hand and bend it so I can never move my wrist about as well 😂 aww thank you so much I honestly didn’t know if anyone would like this tbh, don’t worry! Most of my friends hate tea and think I’m mad for drinking it so much but I love it ❤️❤️ tanks for reading xx
