Hiiiii, so, yesterday was a pretty good day for my blog (thank you all so much for 400 views? In less than a week?) so I thought I’d do a bit more of a ~personal~ tag, where I spill all my deepest darkest bookish secrets (jk but you get the point). So, I beg you not to judge me or hate me, and without further ado, lets get started!
I had never ever completely DNF’d a book and had zero plans on ever returning to it until I read the first ARC I received through NetGalley: Tale of a Dragon Princess, I hated this, and I stopped reading at 30% because it was an actual pile of steaming crap.
Add To Goodreads (I strongly advise against this)
I don’t have a proper answer to this, because unless it’s a Harry Potter book, I don’t re-read much because of the sheer amount of books I need to get through, however, a book I enjoyed that a lot of people consider either awful or trashy is Hush Hush, I’ve only read book one in the series but oddly enough, I really enjoyed it.
Literally anything by Sarah J Maas, if you have me on Goodreads, you have more than likely seen that I am always commenting on how I hate her writing, and liking 1-star reviews of her books because THE WOMAN CAN’T WRITE, the only words she knows are ‘fae male’ and all her characters are irritating morons and I get such pleasure out of my deep hatred for her books that I think there must be love somewhere within.
All the Ugly and Wonderful Things, now, I haven’t read this book so you may think I have no right to comment on it. But I’ve read the reviews and watched the discussions. This book is about a man in his late twenties that falls in love with a twelve/thirteen year old (who he met when she was eight) and has a FULL ON (you know what I mean) relationship with her and I am not here for normalising and romanticising paedophilia, a child could read this, or worse, a paedophile could read this and think that it justifies their actions/feelings, just, no, throw this book into the ocean, let it burn in the firey pits of hell where all the people who ship this and think is ‘cute’ belong.
Add To Goodreads to be deeply disturbed, I recommend reading through some of the reviews if you get a chance.
My honest answer is the boring one, I’ve read the Harry Potter series so many times that I’ve lost count, however, if a book is on my Kindle I often re-read it if I get bored, so some honourable mentions are:
- The Fault in Our Stars ( Add To Goodreads )
- The Hunger Games ( Add To Goodreads )
- Fangirl ( Add To Goodreads )
This is actually really difficult, so I’m going to be less specific, any adult romance with the awful covers, just, noooooope.
Once again, the obvious is Harry Potter but my non-Potter answer would be either Three Dark Crowns or The Night Circus
Tiny Pretty Things made me so mad, but in the best possible way, I wanted justice and I wanted it badly, badly enough that I was literally gritting my teeth while I was reading it
FUN FACT: I have never ever cried out of emotion reading a book, watching a movie/TV show or listening to a song, i will only ever cry when I’m mad, I’m not kidding, once I cried because I couldn’t find my chocolate milk.
Any book where they’ve changed the cover to match the movie, why would you do that? Who hurt you?
Thank you for reading through my confessions! Do you agree or disagree with me? Let me know in the comments, I’d love to hear what you think. *I’m about to go full-on YouTuber with you* If you enjoyed this post please Like it (there’s a little star button somewhere down there) (God I hate that I had to say that). Thank you all so much for making my first week as a blogger so wonderful, I love you all and I might do some sort of giveaway/competition thing maybe soon but just maybe but probably but still maybe. Thanks for reading and I’ll talk to you in my next post!
